Ever since I was a young boy, I have sought out secret worlds; worlds of wonder and enchantment and beauty in abundance, where no pain or suffering would ever dare live. I would wander the mountains and forests and imagine playful lights dancing up in the treetops with such clarity I could swear they really were there. I would wish day and night that I might tumble down a rabbit hole and be spirited away on some fantastic adventure.
As far back as I can remember, I have searched for the hidden magic in things, those moments that seem to glimmer and shine with their own inner light, and so my great hope and intention with my Verses and Volumes is to simply encourage you to do the same. To see how the rabbit hole, this deep magic, belongs not only to stories, but can be found right here beneath the soles of your feet; in the soft light of morning, amongst the woods and the streams, in dance, in music, or a lover’s kiss.
My message as I intend it is this: There is nothing ordinary about you or this remarkable world we inhabit, there is wild beauty, there is poetry, alive all around you. The secret is knowing where to look.
